THE MOD ONE PROGRAM

Developing Effective Skills for Dealing with Stress: A Group for Teen Girls

DESCRIPTION

This four-week program, led by Janelle Von Storch, is designed to help teen girls feel like themselves again, confident and free from debilitating anxiety or depression. Its focus is to help teens cope with stress and developing lasting skills manage stressful situations.  The Mod One Program utilizes Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to teach participants about anxiety, its symptoms, and strategies to overcome it. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment with proven effectiveness in treating anxiety. The focus of CBT is to decrease maladaptive behaviors and modify dysfunctional anxiety-provoking thoughts and beliefs. The end result is an increased ability to cope with negative emotions and stressors, allowing teens to feel confident and happy.

Each group lasts 60 minutes and includes teen girls ages 12-16 years of age. Each girl has the opportunity to express what it is like to live with anxiety, learn new skills, and interact with other teens experiencing similar difficulties.

Feel Confident Again!
